autumn mini giveaway!

It's autumn and I feel the need to shed some leaves...

...or maybe I have spring fever from reading blogs from overseas!

Inspired by Melissa's post from last week, I'd also like to hear from you - as I know there are far more people who visit this site than ever leave comments!

Although I have the shop now, what I really also enjoy is reading and hearing from people all over the world... and I just love to give things away... because I can!

The giveaway is in 2 stages.

Stage 1
First of all I have 8 little keepsake bags in this style
Img_2671
They were made in the early days of "the patchwork dress" before it ever became a blog. I feel I'm moving on to other projects and styles, so rather than put them in my Etsy shop, I'd like to give them away. Many of them are made of the fabrics I've also got up in the Patchworkdress Banner there, so they will be a little piece of Patchworkdress history! They are ideal to hold a little keepsake like a crystal or jewelry, and a friend even has one to keep her ipod in! A mix of fabrics from old kimono to cotton - they have a contrasting lining (without seams) and many have Rouleaux ribbon.

If you'd like to be entered into the draw - please just leave a comment at end of today's post. (right down the bottom, past the birds!)
You don't need to have a blog, but I'd love to hear from you if you do. If you are of a crafty persuasion, let me know what your favourite thing is... ie patchwork, sewing, knitting, cooking whatever! Also I'd love to know where you are - so you can be specific ie bathroom - or geographical - (preferable). Previous commenters join in too!
Whether it's autumn or spring in your climes, both are a good time to come-out and delurk - shed some inhibitions and begin new projects!!

On Friday I'll pick 8 names out of a hat, and email those people to get their addresses. Each will receive a mini patchworkdress parcelette.

So that's up til end of day Friday (GMT) - so if you are southern hemisphere you may still have time even if it's early Saturday!

(By the way, I live about 40 mins outside Glasgow on the West Coast of Scotland - about 5 minutes drive from Loch Lomond...and my most favourite thing is patchwork quilts.)

Stage 2
It's autumn and time for birds to fly to other climates.

I have 4 'prototype' birds who'd like to fly off somewhere and maybe find new homes! As they are prototypes they are a bit rough round the edges, so again I won't put them in the shop, but feel they could still be loved. All quite small (handsized) and could tie onto a pram, pushchair, above a cot or just for you! (I can add a ribbon to the greenbirds, just state if you'd like one).

Made from recycled cotton, organic cotton filling, embroidery thread and Rouleaux ribbon!!
Freebird

This is a first come, first served basis, so the first four people to state in the comments small pink bird, large pink bird, small green bird or large green bird will be the receivers. Again I will contact you for the addresses.

Thanks for visiting, look forward to hearing from you! (*^")

Hi, I found you from Sally's blog, and that from tiny happy. The little blue birdie would find a happy home in my studio. It would be quite a treat to hear from you. I would enjoy sending you a "wee thank you giftie" from USA. Right now I am plowing through a production line of tote bags for Fall Foliage season in Vermont (to sell at the market.) The first 5 were fun, but I have 45 more cut out, oh my. I would be fun to take a break and create something cute for you. Regards, Meg Jewell, Dolly Dilettante. mjjewell@hotmail.com

P.S.: Oh, am I a blind old lady, First, verifying my comment by typing in those random letters is, for me, like going to the eye doctor! I get it wrong every time. But then, I realized that the tiny blue birdie is really a green birdie. Makes me wonder why I sew! From blind as a bat, Meg

I am a craft blog lurker. Love reading your enteries. Finally been pursuaded to post a comment because I'd just love to provide a home for the small pink bird. It's very tweet.

what a generous giveaway, caireen- your little keepsake bags are sweet, as are the little birds! i find both spring and autumn to be wonderful times for 'fresh beginnings...' so i hope your wee birds find kind homes to fly to.

Hi! You are my partner for the scrap swap, so I looked up your blog. Very nice! I really like the big pink bird.

How fun, a giveaway! I think I've commented before, but I found you though Melissa at tiny happy too! I'm based in Christchurch, NZ and hopefully one day we'll make it to Scotland. My preferred mode of crafting changes with the seasons...more sewing in summer, knitting in winter! You had a bonanza haul in the quilting shop, lucky your Mum!

Hi thought I'd delurk to let you know I too came to you from the Tiny Happy blog. I only recently came across the wonderful world of the craft blog, because I was surfing for bag patterns and came across Melissa's. I've been lurking for a while now and am in awe of all you warm, funny creative ladies who also have the time to blog - don't know how you do it but thank you.

Sarah in sunny Birmingham UK

THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR COMMENTS XX
THE DRAW IS NOW CLOSED (AND THE BIG GREEN BIRD GOES TO SALLY ANNE), I'LL POST ABOUT THE DRAW LATER X
