3 years ago I did a little 'advent adventure' and posted an image everyday for the 24 days of advent.
This year has caught me a bit earlier, as I mistakenly thought november had 31 days, and I still had a day to think about it - so here it is - the first post of the '2010 advent adventure' !
Hopefully I will be able to keep it up, I suspect it will be rambling mish-mash of pictures, links, and things I am making - but I will try and keep it festive!
I took this photograph the other day looking out across fields at the back of the village over towards snow-covered Ben Lomond. You can make out the 'backbone' of Conic Hill to the right - the Highland Boundary Fault that runs under the Loch. The start of the Highlands.
The farmer (a young girl - Pip from the Archers?) had driven her tractor into the field and was dumping hay for the cattle, who are all gathered down at that gate. You can see them in the distance and the tyre tracks of her tractor. I know farmers work hard, but it really brought home to me that in these snow filled days, those animals will hardly eat without the farmers going out to feed them. That must be full time work in itself, let alone doing anything else.
The snow is falling here yet again this morning. Spare a thought for the farmers and anyone who has to work outdoors today.
I don't think I have ever seen Ben Lomond so completely white - pretty amazing! Supposed to be going to Ross Priory on Friday so hope to get some pics - though remains to be seen if we'll make it through the snowy conditions. xx

Really lovely picture. I've just linked your other snow pics from my blog, you've captured it well. Your 'Pip' is called Lisa and yes she and other farmers work hard in very tough conditions. Dx
